lbgbg - a poem by memory bhanu
We’re incredibly proud to share let black girls be girls — a tender and powerful poem written and performed by the lovely Memory (@memorythehumxn).
This piece was born from the spirit of our 2024 campaign, and it feels especially meaningful to reflect on just how far that message has travelled. Over the past year, it’s been a quiet joy to witness the way it has resonated, sparked conversation, and found its way into so many hearts. This poem holds that journey with such care, honesty, and depth.
Memory’s words remind us of softness as resistance, of joy as birthright, and of the beauty in allowing Black girls the freedom to simply be. We’re deeply honoured to hold space for her voice and artistry.
Take a moment to listen, to feel, and to sit with it — and be sure to show love by connecting with her on Instagram at @memorythehumxn 🤎✨
